A Foundation of Expertise (1982–1997)
The journey began in 1982, when our Owner and President, Ian McHattie, first entered the powder coating industry. Spending fifteen years mastering the nuances of the trade, Ian developed a profound understanding of both the chemistry of the powder and the mechanics of the application.
In 1997, Ian and his wife, Jo, took a bold step into entrepreneurship. Combining Ian’s industry expertise with a vision for better production methods, they began designing innovative machinery specifically engineered to manufacture high-quality powder coatings.
From Garage Beginnings to Industrial Growth
Upon moving to Illinois, Ian and Jo officially transitioned into manufacturing. In a true “American Dream” success story, the business started in their family garage, utilizing the very machines Ian had designed and built himself.
The market quickly responded to the superior quality of their coatings. As demand from industrial coaters and fabricators surged, the “garage shop” could no longer contain their ambition. In 2007, the company moved to its current professional manufacturing facility, providing the space needed to scale production and implement rigorous quality controls. We have been expanding our footprint and capabilities every year since.
